April.
The garden was designed by Kate Smithson, a graduate of the Yorkshire School of Garden Design. It is intended to be a place of remembrance and tranquillity where people who have been affected by the work of YAA can go to remember and reflect on their experiences, or memories of loved ones.
The ‘Reflection and Remembrance Garden’ won ‘Best in Show’ and the premier Gold Award. The Judges commented that the design was “an excellent garden […] well scaled and in proportion.”
A lasting memorial, the garden will become a legacy for the community for years to come through lasting dedications to loved ones. The garden will be relocated later this year to take up its permanent home in Roundhay Park.
Once in its new home, YAA plans to utilise the garden for awareness and to create an enduring dedications from the public to loved ones and to patients who have used their service.
At Redmayne Bentley we are proud to support charities through a variety of initiatives, including colleague fundraising activities and sponsorship, and via our investment services.
