Investment Firm raises funds for over 500 hours of vital research for Alzheimer’s Research UK

The team at our head office in Leeds have raised £10,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. This will fund over 500 hours of vital research in trying to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, a disease that impacts the lives of 34.5 million people in the UK.

Over the past 12 months they have raised funds through a number of events and activities, including bingo, quizzes and bake sales. In addition, a team of 22 colleagues took part in the 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks walking challenge.

Neil Talbot, Asset Servicing Manager, who is also a member of the firm’s Interactive Group, which coordinates the efforts of colleagues to volunteer and raise funds for charitable organisations, said:

“Alzheimer’s Research UK was our chosen charity for 2022 and was a cause close to many people’s hearts at Redmayne Bentley. It has been a pleasure working alongside Sara [Hoxhaj] who provided us with lots of support and suggestions to ensure that our fundraising was a big success, as well as visiting us in the office to provide informative sessions to colleagues on how they are trying to tackle the disease.

“Over the year we have held various sweepstakes, bake sales, bingo, and quiz nights and many of us took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise vital funds. We are delighted to have raised £10,000 for such a worthy cause!”

Sara Hoxhaj, Regional Fundraising Officer from Alzheimer’s Research UK, commented:
“Fundraising with the team at Redmayne Bentley has been an utter pleasure, one of my regional highlights! It’s inspiring to see how the whole team has come behind us as a charity and raised a remarkable £10,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

“Not only will these funds support local researchers to make breakthroughs in dementia research, but throughout our partnership we’ve had the opportunity to raise awareness about the disease and learn more about how we can reduce our own risk of developing it too. I’ll certainly miss working with the team, but I do hope we get to do this again in the future. Thank you everyone!”
