Miles established the Hitchin office of Redmayne Bentley in October 1998. The connection with Redmayne Bentley came about as Miles had previously been a client since he first started investing in 1993. An early interest in stockbroking was inspired by luminaries such as Peter Lynch, Jim Slater and Warren Buffett as well as a slightly obsessive interest in business generally. Some modest national investment competition success in the mid-1990s took Miles as far afield as Japan and New York and prompted the decision to become fully qualified and establish the Redmayne Bentley office in a lovely, converted chapel in the village of Preston where the office is still situated some twenty-five years later. Miles’ early investment experience was honed out of investing in smaller companies in the UK but quickly spread to equities more generally, from near and far. He loves spending time trawling and digging for ideas and new opportunities that reflect the current and future themes of the real world around us.
When not at the office, Miles can mainly be found outdoors, whether walking in the Herts countryside or on a riverbank indulging his passion for fly fishing. His free time is also spent participating in and supporting charitable ventures and he has spent time on the investments committee of several charities.
