US pre-open: Stocks on track for winning week despite pre-market losses
(Sharecast News) - Wall Street futures were in the red ahead of the bell on Friday but major indices were still on track to record a winning week.
As of 1240 GMT, Dow Jones futures were down 0.10%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.19% and 0.29% lower, respectively.
The Dow closed 461.88 points higher on Thursday, extending gains recorded in the previous session.
Nvidia was still in focus early on Friday following the AI darling's Q3 earnings release earlier in the week, with both it and other tech giants Meta Platforms and Alphabet trading lower ahead of the bell.
Bitcoin was also drawing an amount of investor attention prior to the open, with the benchmark cryptocurrency hovering near the psychologically important $100,000 mark.
On the macro front, a preliminary reading of S&P Global's November manufacturing and services PMIs will be published at 1445 GMT, while the University of Michigan's November consumer sentiment index will follow at 1500 GMT.
In the corporate space, shares in clothing retailer Gap traded higher in pre-market after it raised full-year sales guidance on the back of a Q3 earnings beat.
