Tuesday preview: UK employment, US Treasury auctions in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus on Tuesday will be on the UK employment report for the month of April. Consensus is for the ILO rate of unemployment to remain 4.3% for over the three months to April and in comparison with a year earlier.

The rate of growth in average earnings excluding bonuses meanwhile is seen staying at 6.0%.

In the States attention will be on the results of an auction of 52-week Treasury bills at 1530 BST, followed by the sale of 10-year debt at 1700 BST.

Worth noting as well, the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee's two day meeting will get under way.

Earlier, at noon, the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will publish its monthly market report.
