Tuesday preview: US business confidence, ECB lending survey in focus

(Sharecast News) - The corporate and economic calendar for Tuesday is sparse as investors wait for the release of key consumer price data in the States during the following session. Against that backdrop, at 1000 GMT the National Federation of Independent Business will release its business optimism index for the month of March.

In the euro area meanwhile, the European Central Bank will publish the results of its latest bank lending survey.

Overnight, investors in Japan will be digesting figures for machine tool orders in March.

No major economic releases are scheduled in the UK.
