Friday preview: US inflation data, UK consumer confidence in focus

(Sharecast News) - The financial market spotlight at the end of the week will be on the latest personal income and spending report for December due out in the States. That is because of the key inflation data that are contained in the same, namely the readings on the price deflators for personal consumption expenditures.

In year-on-year terms, core PCE - the Fed's preferred inflation gauge - is expected to have slowed from 3.2% for November to 3.0% in December.

Also due out are readings for consumer confidence in Germany and the United Kingdom referencing the months of February and January, respectively.

Euro area money supply growth figures are also scheduled to be published at 1000 GMT.
