Tuesday preview: U.S: JOLTS report, Boohoo in focus

(Sharecast News) - Financial markets' attention on Tuesday would be on the U.S. jobs market. At 1500 BST, the Department of Labor was scheduled to publish its JOLTS report on job openings and quits during the month of August.

Though a bit dated, the report provided useful insights into labour demand and supply in the U.S..

Investors would also be digesting the latest interest rate decision in Australia overnight.

No major economic releases were due out in the euro area or UK.

In the corporate space, Boohoo was scheduled to publish its interim figures.

The numbers should give investors insights into the fashion retailer's progress on its goals, said Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC Markets.

Consensus was for sales of £774m, alongside an improvement in gross margins to 52.64%.

Should Boohoo's shares weaken on the back of any disappointment with its first half results, Frasers Group might opt to to raise its stake further, Hewson noted.
