Thursday preview: German, Spanish CPI and Fed speakers on tap

(Sharecast News) - Financial markets' focus on Thursday will be on consumer price data due out in two of the single currency bloc's largest economies. Preliminary Spanish consumer price data for September are due out at 0800 BST and equivalent figures for Germany at 1300 BST.

Both reports will give investors a first glimpse into price dynamics in the euro area during the month.

They will be followed at 1330 BST by the latest weekly jobless claims figures in the U.S. and revised data for second quarter gross domestic product growth.

Several top fed officials are also on tap, starting from 1400 BST and including chairman Jerome Powell at 2100 BST.

On home shores, at 0700 BST mortgage lender Halifax will release its house price index for September.

Overnight, investors in Asia will be digesting numbers on Japanese industrial production in August and Tokyo consumer price s in September.
